Geneva man loses hand in farm accident

Deputies in Ontario County say that they responded to a farm accident on Tuesday, shortly before 2 pm. The Cheshire Fire Department, Canandaigua Ambulance and Mercy Flight, alongside Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies all responded to 4810 Route 21 for the report of a farm accident involving a hay bailing machine.The victim was identified as Brent Colf, 29, of Geneva. His right hand was amputated due to injuries sustained by the farm machine. He was flown via Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital where doctors attempted to save the limb.As of Wednesday evening, Colf was listed in satisfactory condition. Route 21 was temporarily closed while emergency crews tended to the accident.
