Ovid man steals cell phone, charged with felony

On Monday, at approximately 2 pm deputies and investigators in Seneca County arrested an Ovid man in connection with a robbery that occurred in the Village of Ovid. Deputies arrested Adam C. Miller, 22, of Ovid on charges of robbery in the third degree – a class D felony, and petit larceny – a class A misdemeanor following an investigation into an incident in Ovid.Investigators say Miller allegedly stole a cellular phone from a female victim after focibly removing it from her. During the incident, Miller allegedly punched the female victim in the face and fled the scene on foot.A short time later, deputies say that Miller was located by a Seneca County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and was taken into custody. The victim was not injured and did not wish to receive any medical treatment. Miller was arraigned in Fayette Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $500 cash bail or $1,000 secured bond.He will appear in court on July 15th in Fayette to answer the charges.
