Trumansburg man charged with DWI on Rt. 96

On Tuesday, a Trumansburg man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop, which occurred around 9:51 pm after his vehicle was seen swerving on the roadway.Deputies in Seneca County arrested Michael E. Kenney, 45, of Trumansburg for aggravated driving while intoxicated — with a BAC of .18% or higher. The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop that occurred shortly before 10 pm on Tuesday. Kenney’s vehicle was observed by deputies to be swerving all over the road as he was traveling east on State Route 96 in the Town of Ovid.An investigation determined that Kenney was driving while intoxicated and has since been charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, and failure to maintain lane. He will appear in Ovid Town Court on July 19th to answer the charges.
