On Saturday, at approximately 1:12 am deputies in Ontario County, alongside Ionia Fire and Honeoye Falls Ambulance responded to the area of 2115 Elton Road in the Town of West Bloomfield for a reported vehicle crash.The vehicle had reportedly struck a utility pole. When deputies arrived they discovered that Terry Garth Peck Jr., 30, of West Bloomfield had crashed a 2002 Toyota Camry head on into a telephone pole. Peck was checked over at the scene and was released medically. The collision caused extensive front end damage to the car and the telephone pole was sheered off at the ground. Deputies discovered that Peck was under the influence of drugs and subsequently arrested him for driving while ability impaired by drugs. He was additionally charged with failure to keep right, operating out of interlock restriction, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first and second degree — as well as felony driving while ability impaired. Peck had a previous driving while intoxicated conviction in April of 2012. His drivers license was already suspended, and had been revoked a total of nine times previously. He is currently being held at the Ontario County Jail pending arraignment. National Grid had the road shut down briefly while crews made repairs to restore power and replace the utility pole. Peck will appear in West Bloomfield Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
