SCP’s Willy Wonka is a family show in more ways than one

Willy Wonka, the staged musical version of Roald Dahl’s beloved tale, will be performed by a cast that contains multiple family units enjoying time together on stage. “We were so pleased when entire families came out to bid for roles in Seneca Community Player’s first Auction Theatre type production.” says Romulus resident Deb Bly the show’s director. The story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which was adapted for the stage by Leslie Bricusse and Tim McDonald, follows young Charlie Bucket and Grandpa Joe as they join a small group of golden ticket winners for a tour of the magical and mysterious chocolate factory of eccentric candy maker Willy Wonka. Wonka has a hidden motivation behind the tour, and makes an important decision concerning the factory’s future as the children show their true colors to him during their visit.
