A full day of Convention Days events is planned for Saturday, July 16, 2016. The events begin at 9:00 am with a tour of the Elizabeth Cady Stanton House, with tour guides Elizabeth Cady Stanton (portrayed by Dr. Melinda Grube) and Coline Jenkins (great-great-granddaughter of Stanton). The Stanton House is located at 32 Washington Street in Seneca Falls. At 9:30 am all are encouraged to participate in the Women’s Suffrage Procession from the Elizabeth Cady Stanton House to the Wesleyan Chapel. Participants are encouraged to dress in period attire from 1848 to 1920. The procession is sponsored by the Friends of Women’s Rights National Historical Park, and begins at the Stanton House at 32 Washington Street in Seneca Falls. Convention Days, Inc. celebrates Seneca Falls, New York as a cornerstone of America’s democratic tradition. We promote the region as the center for the advancement of issues relating to human rights as reflected in the first American Women’s Rights Convention of 1848. The 2016 Convention Days celebrates the 168th anniversary of the 1848 Convention. This year’s theme is “Seeing the World: A Woman’s Perspective.” A complete 2016 schedule of events can be found at these websites: www.conventiondays.com and/or www.nps.gov/wori
