On Tuesday morning around 11:14 am Penn Yan Police were called to the scene of an accident at the intersection of Elm Street and Keuka Street. Responding officers found a 14-year-old girl that was hit by a car as she was crossing Elm Street while in the crosswalk.The 14-year-old was transported by Penn Yan Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment of her injuries.The driver of the vehicle, Shantell McMaster, was uninjured and was issued a ticket for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.McMaster is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court in July.FingerLakes1.com will have more information on this incident as it becomes available.
