On Monday the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reported to a two car motor vehicle accident around 1:33 pm in the Town of Seneca. Deputies say that a vehicle being operated by Jessica Rumsey, 20, of Penn Yan was struck by a vehicle being operated by Nathan Welch, 25, of Newark. Both vehicles were traveling east and Rumsey’s vehicle was struck when Welch’s vehicle was unable to stop. Rumsey was transported to Geneva General Hospital to be evaluated and Welch was issued a traffic citation for following too closely. He will answer the charge at a later date in Seneca Town Court.
