Four arrested after IPD find coke, heroin during traffic stop

On Monday at about 7:32 pm an Ithaca Police Department Officer initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle in the 800 block of West Buffalo Street for a NYSVTL infraction. The operator of the vehicle, later identified as Khalifa Middleton, was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a loud muffler and operating the vehicle with a permit only. While speaking with Middleton, officers smelled the odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. Middleton and 2 passengers were ultimately found to be in possession of approximately 26 grams of crack cocaine, 6 grams of heroin, and several thousand dollars in U.S. Currency. A fourth passenger in the vehicle, later identified as Rochelle Landon, was arrested for having two outstanding bench warrants issued by Ithaca City Court. All 4 suspects were transported to Ithaca Police Headquarters for processing. As a result of the traffic stop the following charges have been filed against the following people: Defendant: Khalifa PL Middleton,age 20 of Mount Vernon, arrested for 2 counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd and NYSVTL violations. Middleton was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Scott Miller and ROR for return to Ithaca City Court at a later date. Defendant: Denzel N. Daniels, age 20 of Ithaca, arrested for 2 counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd Degree. Daniels was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Scott Miller and remanded to Tompkins County Jail on $3000 cash bail or $6000 bond for return to Ithaca City Court on the 10th June 2016. Defendant: Martese R. Jackson, age 19 of Mount Vernon, arrested for 2 counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd. Jackson was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Scott Miller and ROR for return to Ithaca City Court at a later date. Defendant: Rochelle N. Landon, age 22 of Ithaca, arrested for the aforesaid bench warrants charging her with false personation and theft of services. Landon was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Scott Miller and remanded to Tompkins County Jail on $1500 cash bail or $3000 bond for return to Ithaca City Court on the 10th June 2016.
