A 24-year-old Ithaca man was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Seneca County on Thursday at approximately 2:33 am. Deputies stopped Curtis A. Tompkins, 24, of Ithaca after he was observed speeding at 80 mph in a 55 mph zone on State Route 96 in the Town of Ovid. Upon further investigation – deputies found that Tompkins was also operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle with .08 BAC or greater.He was released on uniform traffic tickets and will appear in Ovid Town Court on June 21st at 10 am to answer the charges.
