On Monday evening the Concerned Citizens of Seneca County announced that they would be sponsoring a community forum with Syracuse Mayor Stephanie A. Miner. The focus of her visit, which will be held at the Seneca Falls Community Center, will center around local economic development. The community forum is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 1st at 5:30 pm. “When our community makes decisions about economic development, it is important we have all the facts and details when we choose our priorities,” said Linda Ochs from the Concerned Citizens. Allison Stokes shared her sentiment, explaining that, “Mayor Miner has led high-profile battles in Syracuse and is recognized across New York for her commitment to substantive debate, thoughtful questions, and development that serves the needs of the people in a community.”Minor is expected to talk about tax incentives for real estate developers as part of the hour-long forum. She will speak for approximately 30-minutes, and then take questions from the audience for another 30 minutes. Her remarks will touch on her overall philosophical approach to economic development, including addressing the need for job creation and workforce development, and how tax breaks have been issued in the past.
