A two-car accident in Phelps on County Road 23 at the intersection of Fort Hill Road sent multiple individuals to the hospital with a variety of injuries after one vehicle failed to stop. Deputies in Ontario County say that around 1:08 pm law enforcement, as well as Phelps Fire Department, Oaks Corners Fire Department and Finger Lakes Ambulance were all dispatched to County Road 23 and Fort Hill Road in the Town of Phelps for a two-car accident with injuries reported.Deputies say that a southbound vehicle being operated by Jasper Schorer, 28, of Ilam failed to yield the right of way to William Kelly, 64, of Webster who was traveling eastbound on County Road 23. Schorer then struck Kelly in the intersection sending Kelly’s vehicle into a utility pole and street sign. Kelly’s car then continued off the roadway into a field before finally coming to rest.Two passengers in Schorer’s vehicle were transported to Geneva General Hospital with neck and knee pain by Finger Lakes Ambulance. Jasper Schorer was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign and will appear in the Town of Phelps to answer the charges at a later date.
