The South Seneca High School Vocal Jazz group earned high praise from a panel of judges during the recent Darien Lake Music Festival.Nearly 20 students represented the Falcons in the competition, which featured school music groups from across the state. Performers from different schools showcased their abilities and earned points and ratings based on their talents. For the South Seneca contingent, their group performance caught the judges’ attention, earning them a 96.5 score, or an “Outstanding as Distinction” rating.“They came up close behind Grand Champions of Choruses, Elmira High School,” said South Seneca Choral Director Kyla Quinn. “They only missed ‘Grand Champions’ by two points.”In addition to excelling as a group, the district was also represented well in the solo competition.
