Lake Ontario Wine Trail nets $27,500 grant

The Lake Ontario Wine Trail was recently awarded a marketing grant from the Genesee Valley Regional Market Authority (GVRMA) in the amount of $27,500. The grant, which was made possible through the GVRMA’s Agricultural Development Program, aims to “assist in the development of agriculture and agriculturally related businesses in the 9 county GVRMA region.”As a non-profit organization located within the 9 county GVRMA region, the Lake Ontario Wine Trail will use the funds awarded to them towards the development and implementation of a marketing campaign that will focus on a small batch, locally grown, craft made narrative to highlight the uniqueness of the Wine Trail. Funds will be used for professional photography, videography and digital marketing. “This grant gives us the opportunity to increase exposure and visitation to the Lake Ontario Wine Trail through digital marketing” stated Trail President Collin McConville. “Doing so will allow us to further develop our brand and really stress that we are growers and producers of New York State products; we work the soil, harvest the products and create craft beverages from grapes and fruits right here on our farms. Many of our wineries, distilleries and cideries are located on multi-generational farms. Our families have a history of growing and producing goods and we want to continue to provide consumers and future generations with the best local products we have to offer. This grant will allow us to do just that” stated McConville.
