On Thursday morning, at around 3:34 am, Penn Yan Village Police officers arrested Travis D. Vermilye, age 22 of Penn Yan, after an investigation into a suspicious vehicle on Stark Avenue.During the investigation, Vermilye was found to be in possession of two hypodermic syringes, a marijuana smoking pipe and a quantity of marijuana.Vermilye was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.He was arraigned in Penn Yan Village Court and remanded to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond. Vermilye will reappear in Village Court at a later date to answer the charges.
