An Ontario County Jail inmate was charged with attempted assault after an altercation in the facility, which resulted in the inmate kicking a corrections officer. Deputies in Ontario County say that Marcus Kayne St. Denis was arrested for attempted assault in the second degree following an investigation into events that occurred on May 4th at the Ontario County Jail in Hopewell.Deputies say that St. Denis began physically resisting and fighting with corrections personnel while they were escorting him back to his cell after a phone call. During the struggle, St. Denis allegedly began kicking at corrections personnel which resulted in a deputy getting kicked in the right side of the face. St. Denis was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Canandaigua City Court at a later date to answer the charge.
