One person was sent to the hospital on Saturday after an accident, which occurred shortly before 5:00 pm in Geneva. Deputies say that they responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident at the intersection of State Route 5&20 and County Road 6 around 4:40 pm. Witnesses said that a vehicle, which was being operated by Edwin Guerra was traveling north on County Road 6 when he was observed crossing the center line as he approached the intersection. A number of other vehicle were stopped at this intersection for a red light. However, the pickup truck entered the intersection and struck a vehicle traveling eastbound on State Route 5&20, which was operated by Eurriel Hosmer. Ms. Hosmer complained of ankle pain and had a minor abrasion to her forehead. Deputies say she was transported to Geneva General Hospital by a privately owned vehicle. All of those involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident and no airbags were deployed. Guerra was issued a traffic ticket for failing to keep right, unlicensed operation and passing a red signal.He will answer all charges in Geneva Town Court at a later date. The condition of the hospitalized individual is not known.
