The Geneva Police Department is tending to the scene of a shooting in the City of Geneva, on Linden Street near Seneca Street.The shooting happened around 1:00 am and officers were called to the scene after reports of shots fired in downtown began coming in. The victim was shot in the leg and was transported to Geneva General Hospital.Detectives are interviewing the victim, who is not cooperating or providing any further detail at this time. He was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for further treatment. At this point, detectives believe that the individual may have been targeted from an earlier altercation, but it’s unclear what the cause of the shooting might have been at this time.Police say they are working to process the crime scene and canvasing the area as a whole to learn more.
