Seneca Community Players’ production of John Buchan’s The 39 Steps will open this Friday at 8PM, at the Douglas Avery Performing Arts Center of Mynderse Academy in Seneca Falls.The 39 Steps is a melodrama adapted from the 1915 novel by John Buchan and the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock. This madcap, fast paced spy story is being directed by Theatre Association of New York State (TANYS) Award winning Director Eric Jansen of Clifton Springs.Although the cast of characters is large, just a handful of actors play the many parts. Steve Mitchell plays the part of the hero Richard Hannay, Lisa Rood plays all three women with whom he has romantic interest, and John Faylo, Bill Webster, Charlie Manaseri, & Jim Porto play every other character in the show: heroes, villains, men, women & children.”This cast has been working their extremely hard, and has been having a lot of fun together in rehearsals, which will translate into tight, quality performances” says Mr. Jansen of his hand picked cast.Show dates are April 29, 30, May 1, 6, & 7.
