Falls woman impersonates jail employee to get released

Deputies in Seneca County report that a Seneca Falls woman was arrested for criminal impersonation following an investigation into an incident that took place on March 29th.Desiree R. Bates, 28, of Seneca Falls was charged with criminal impersonation in the second degree. The charge stems from an investigation into an incident on March 29th at the Seneca County Jail where Bates is incarcerated. Bates made a phone call to another person pretending to be an employee of the Seneca County Jail to get them to release her from jail. She was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Romulus Town Court on May 13th.
