A Canandaigua man is facing DWI charges following a traffic stop which took place on County Road 47 in the Town of Hopewell.The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that James M. Wallis, 39, of Canandaigua was operating a 2004 Dodge pickup truck in an intoxicated condition on County Road 47 in Hopewell when deputies say he reportedly struck two mailboxes and an RG&E electric pole. Wallis allegedly left the scene of those property damage accidents, and he was subsequently arrested at his home. He was transported to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office where he submitted to a breath test. Wallis was issued citations and will appear before the Hopewell Town Court at a later date.
