Pickup truck pulling horses overturns in Geneva (photos)

Shortly after noon on Friday the Geneva Police Department responded to a rollover motor vehicle accident in the city, at the corner of Hamilton Street and Copeland Avenue. Police say a Chevrolet pickup truck pulling a horse trailer, which was being operated by Ken Smith of Canandaigua was eastbound on Hamilton Street when a Buick being operated by Joan Hafer attempted to turn left into the plaza in front of the pickup truck.The pickup truck then struck the Buick causing the trailer to jack-knife and overturn. Two horses in the trailer suffered minor scrapes and were transported back to Farmington. No other injuries were reported at the scene by the two people involved. According to police, Hafer was ticketed for failure to yield right of way – left turn. The Geneva Fire Department assisted at the scene of the accident. Photos by Bernie Harris
