The Yates County Sheriff’s Office has announced a break in a case, which was described as a felony hit and run accident on Tuesday afternoon.On Tuesday, deputies responded to an accident in the Town of Benton, involving a teen bicycle rider, who was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured. The teen was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital, from the scene on Route 364.Investigators in Yates County say they have located and impounded the tan colored van believed to be involved in the hit and run. While the suspect has not been located, investigators are hoping the van will provide the clues to determine the identity of the driver. The investigation is ongoing and FingerLakes1.com will provide updates as they become available.
