Auburn man wanted in connection with violent felonies

The Auburn Police Department is asking for the public for assistance in locating a man wanted on a variety of violent felony charges.Walter Chargles O’Conner, 41, of Scottsville is wanted on five bench warrants. Three of them felonies, and two misdemeanors. He is charged with assault in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, grand larceny in the third degree, welfare fraud in the fifth degree, and misuse of food stamps. While the weapons and assault charges date back to early last year, police say that the welfare fraud and food stamp charges are connected to an arrest on January 12th. According to police, O’Conner is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs roughly 230 pounds, and goes by the nickname of “Bobby Fingers.”Police have warned the public to be vigilant, but to not attempt to apprehend O’Conner if they see him. His history of violent charges makes him a threat to those he comes in contact with. Anyone with information should call (315) 253-3231, (315) 253-3235 or (315) 255-4705.
