A large structure fire was reported in Romulus shortly before 6:45 pm on Saturday evening. A barn fire was reported after heavy, black smoke was seen coming from the vicinity of Yerkes Road in Romulus.
Around 7:30 pm traffic was being diverted off of State Route 414 onto Vineyard Road, as crews worked to put out the flames.At least six fire departments were called to the scene from Seneca County to fight the blaze and a number of fire police had been called as of 7:30 pm to investigate the cause of the fire. It was described as a barn fire, and the heavy black smoke could be seen all the way in Seneca Falls — where bystanders had called in to report the heavy smoke.
