On Monday at approximately 11:27 pm a tractor trailer being operated by a Pennsylvania man rolled over on State Route 53 in the Town of Naples, taking out two telephone poles and power lines.The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that a call came into the 911 Center shortly after 11:11 pm reporting that a tractor trailer had rolled over on State Route 53, taking down two telephone poles and wires. Upon investigation deputies learned that the tractor trailer left the roadway causing the driver to lose control over both the vehicle and the trailer being pulled behind it. At that time, deputies say both overturned – hitting two poles along the way. The entire load was lost, which was 47,793 pounds of drywall from Western Express headed for the Home Depot in Victor.Daniel Lee Plank, 30, of Mansfield, Pennsylvania was the operator of the truck, according to deputies. Naples Fire and EMS responded to the accident. Cleanup was handled by T&R Towing and Environmental Services, who also removed the tractor and trailer from the scene. Plank was cited for speed not reasonable for highway conditions given the rain.NYSEG worked afterward to replace the telephone poles, which had come down during the accident.
