Infant dies from injuries in Fleming accident

Cayuga County Sheriff David Gould said that a one-month-old child has died at Upstate Hospital as result of injuries sustained during a head on accident on State Route 34 in the Town of Fleming.Raymond Campagna Jr., 37, of Auburn was charged with driving while ability impaired by a combination of drugs and alcohol, as well as failure to keep right. More charges are possible as the investigation continues. Campagna was traveling northbound on State Route 34 in the Town of Fleming when his 2015 Honda CRV crossed into the southbound lane, striking a 2004 GMC pickup truck. While the drivers of both vehicles were uninjured, the three passengers in the vehicles were transported to various local hospitals. Amanda Vasco, 36, of Auburn was treated at Auburn Community Hospital. She was the passenger in Campagna’s vehicle, according to Sheriff Gould.Kristen Marie Foisia-Burgman, 20, of Aurora, as well as Kasey Potter, one-month-old, were both transported to Upstate Hospital via Life Net. Dakota Potter, 18, of Aurora was the operator of the GMC pickup truck. Foisia-Burgman is still being treated at Upstate Hospital. However, Sheriff Gould reported that the infant died at Upstate Hospital as result of the injuries sustained during the accident.
