The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for much of the Finger Lakes, which runs from 12 pm Wednesday to 2 am Thursday. The advisory comes as winds are expected to pick up and gust significantly during the afternoon hours. Advised counties include: Cayuga, Cortland, Tompkins, Yates, Ontario, and most of the Southern Tier.Sustained winds of 15 to 30 mph are expected with gusts in excess of 45 mph during the afternoon and evening hours.
