The National Weather Service has expanded the Wind Advisory to include nearly all of New York on Monday. The updated advisory will begin during the daylight hours on Monday and not expire until Tuesday at 6 am for parts of the Finger Lakes.The Wind Advisory was expanded to include counties to the east and south of where the original one had been issued. The National Weather Service says that downed tree branches and isolated power outages are possible throughout the region — as winds are sustained around 30 mph — with the highest gusts forecasted to be between 50 and 55 mph.Counties in the Wind Advisory include: Ontario, Monroe, Wayne, Tompkins, Cortland, Cayuga, Schuyler, Yates, Livingston, Onondaga, Oswego, and many others. The full-list can be viewed here.In the western portions of the Finger Lakes — the Wind Advisory begins earlier — with the first communities entering the advised period during the morning hours of Monday. Winds are expected to peak late in the afternoon — and slowly subside throughout the evening and overnight hours.
