On Tuesday the Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Tina Marie Powers, age 43 of Manchester, for assault in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation into events that occurred on March 17th in which Powers is reported to have thrown a Kindle tablet at her 8 year old granddaughter that stuck her in the right eye causing the child to suffer a black eye.The child was kept home from school for a period of time and when the child returned to school she was instructed to tell those who asked about the injury that she had fallen on her bicycle and struck her eye on the handlebars. Powers was arraigned before the Manchester Town Court and an order of protection was issued. She is to reappear before the Manchester Town Court at a later date.
