The Ithaca Police Department is asking for the public to help provide any information that could lead to the arrest of an armed robbery suspect from an incident Saturday night.On March 19th at approximately 8:45 pm, the Ithaca Police were called to respond to the Subway restaurant located at 401 Elmira Road for the report of an armed robbery. Officers arrived and spoke with the store employee, who reported that he had just been robbed at gunpoint.The clerk reported that he was preparing the store for close when a lone perpetrator entered wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and black ski mask. The clerk reports that he was forced back to the register and then forced to open the register as the suspect brandished a handgun. The suspect removed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register before fleeing the store on foot, reportedly towards Spencer Street.The restaurant employee described the perpetrator as a black male of average build with a dark complexion.
