The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that on March 13th at approximately 10:26 pm James Betts, Jr. of Naples was charged with driving while intoxicated.The 53-year-old Betts was arrested following the complaint of a property damage accident where Betts’ allegedly allowed his vehicle to side swipe a parked vehicle. He then fled the scene on State Route 21 in the Town of Naples. He was followed from the accident scene and eventually stopped. Betts was transported to the Ontario County Jail where he submitted to a breath test. However, he was also cited for aggravated driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, before being processed and released. Betts will appear in the Town of Naples to answer the charges at a later date.
