The Penn Yan Police Department announces the following arrests. All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.On Saturday at 10:20 pm Village Police arrested Benjamin E. Carmel, age 26 of Penn Yan, on a Superior Court Bench warrant from Yates County for failure to appear on a previous charge. Carmel was taken to the Yates County Jail and held without bail awaiting arraignment.On Saturday at 9:58 pm Village Police arrested Anthony M. Luppino, age 23 of Penn Yan, after a traffic stop on East Elm Street. Luppino was in possession of a plastic baggie containing marijuana and a smoking device that contained marijuana residue. He was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana and issued an appearance ticket to appear in Village Court at a later date.On Sunday at 10:40 am Village Police arrested Raymond J. Mcloud, age 17 of no known address, on an arrest warrant for violation of probation from the Penn Yan Village Court. Mcloud was arraigned in court where he was remanded to the Yates County Jail without bail until his appearance in Village Court at a later date.
