The first step in a two-year phase-in period for a new area code in the 315 region starts Saturday. That’s when callers in the 315 area code, which spans a huge portion of central New York, including much of the Finger Lakes, will have to dial a few more numbers to make their calls, said the New York State Public Service Commission.
