ARC of Seneca Cayuga receives rec grant – FingerLakes1.com Archive

NYSARC Trust Services Board has approved a remainder fund grant of $12,500 to Arc of Seneca Cayuga to provide recreational opportunities for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities who live in the community. Arc of Seneca Cayuga will utilize those funds to ensure that more than 30 people living in Seneca and Cayuga Counties are able to participate in community activities, such as bowling, dances, fairs and festivals. Activities frequently provide volunteer opportunities to support people with disabilities in being more involved in, and giving back to, their communities. The NYSARC Trusts administer supplemental needs trusts which enable people with disabilities to remain in their home and community and still retain their Medicaid eligible services. The Trustees utilize remainder funds to benefit other persons with disabilities, including unfunded Chapter Guardianship programs as provided by statute. ARC of Seneca Cayuga is a not-for-profit agency comprised of people dedicated to assisting and supporting individuals with disabilities, their families, and the community. The mission of ARC of Seneca Cayuga is to provide opportunities and choices for treatment, employment, education, recreation, and community living to assist individuals with disabilities to realize a productive and fulfilling life.
