The South Seneca girls varsity basketball team accomplished something on Saturday that the basketball tradition-rich south county community hasn’t enjoyed in over a decade, a Sectional Championship. The Lady Falcons took on the Perry Yellow Jackets in the 2016 Section V Class C2 Championship Game on Saturday at Rush-Henrietta in a contest that tipped early at 11:00 am.Top seeded South Seneca may have needed a little time to wake up, as they struggled offensively early, but found their stride in a huge third quarter to cruise to a 50-26 win over the 7-seed Perry, capturing their first sectional title since 2003, the fifth of five-straight championships.
