Save the date for one of the most anticipated neighborhood events of the year! On Saturday, June 18th, take a stroll around the Founders Square Neighborhood from 7-9 pm for the Fourth Annual Geneva Musical Porches Concert. The public is invited to take sunset stroll around one of Geneva’s beautiful neighborhoods, enjoy the diverse music being performed from resident porches, and experience the friendly, relaxed atmosphere of Founders Square. The musicians are volunteering their talents and the homeowners will be providing their porches as stages. It is asked that you stay on the sidewalks unless invited into the yards by the homeowners and all children be accompanied by an adult. Each porch will be identified by a sign and a guided tour map will be available at a table on Washington Street in front of the cemetery. This year, we will be asking for donations to help restore the ball field in Jefferson Park. Donation boxes will be available at each venue and at the information table. Those who are interested in volunteering as a performer can contact Angelina Marino, 315-329-4942, amarino@geneva.ny.us. If you are a resident in the Founders Square neighborhood, and are willing to donate your porch for the event, please contact Kathryn Vaughn, 315-781-2936, kvaughn@hws.edu. For more information on the event, please contact Kathryn Vaughn, Angela Marino, or the Geneva Neighborhood Resource Center at 315-828-6588. The Geneva Neighborhood Resource Center is a program of the City of Geneva’s Office of Neighborhood Initiatives. Since 2010, the GNRC has consistently served as central support and information outlet to help residents create and maintain proactive associations in the eleven uniquely urban neighborhoods in the city. For more information on the GNRC or to learn more about your neighborhood association visit www.genevanrc.org.
