Hunter shoots himself in the foot in Geneva

On Sunday, February 21st at approximately 7:30 am the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded to a hunting accident that took place in the Town of Geneva. The accident occurred in the field located at the corner of County Road 6 and Armstrong Road in the Town of Geneva, and involved the subject shooting himself in the foot.The subject, who was identified as a minor, was hunting snow geese with several friends in the Geneva field when he accidentally shot himself in the foot with a 12 gauge shotgun. The subject had been using 3-inch steel shot BB’s. The subject was transported to Geneva General Hospital by a private vehicle and then transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Finger Lakes Ambulance. The injuries were in the area of the upper-right foot.Due to the incident being a hunting accident the case was turned over to the environmental conservation police.
