The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office released their monthly report recapping December’s activity.In December, 90 males and 19 females were committed to the jail facility. There were 98 transports executed by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, and 11,175 inmate meals were served. $41,975 was collected from 47 inmates, which were released on bail. Inmates worked a total of 1.756 hours of labor in laundry, facility cleaning and food service. The jail facility boarded in a pair of inmates from the Oswego Sheriff’s Office, secured 19 parole violators and 11 inmates that were state ready for transfer to state prison.Court Security Officers cleared 3,443 people entering the Hall of Justice through the magnetometer, securing 67 weapons and 817 other contraband items similar to TSA airport security items.Deputies traveled 96,460 miles on patrol, investigating 95 motor vehicle accidents in which 13 people were injured. There were two missing persons reported, 69 animal complaints, 2,599 miscellaneous complaints, 4459 minor crimes, 18 major crimes and 12 fires totaling 3,138 complaints received. Deputies issued 344 traffic tickets and made 187 violation, misdemeanor and felony arrests. The records office processed 45 pistole permit applications, 102 pistol permit amendments requiring a Brady Check and registered 36 sex offenders.The Civil Office served 98 legal papers and 98 family court orders. They handled 8 evictions, received $98,294.51 and paid out $93,713.68 to creditors. In all, $11,982 was remitted to County Treasurer Thomas Warnick for the County’s General Fund.An active month for DWI’s as Wayne County charged 27 people with DWI in the month of December. Newark and Macedon accounted for five of the arrests, the New York State Police accounted for nine, while Wayne County accounted for 13.The full-report is available on the Wayne County Sheriff’s Facebook Page.
