The New York State Thruway is closed to eastbound traffic from Exit 40, according to reports from the Thruway Authority. All eastbound lanes are blocked and motorists must exit the Thruway at Exit 40. An accident has shut down all traffic, which is said to have occurred around milepost 304. The accident is said to have taken place a little after 10:00 am this morning. Around 11:00 am the New York State Thruway Authority closed down the roadway.
