The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office has concluded their investigation into a motorcycle accident that occurred on October 4, 2015. The investigation revealed that Gilbert A. Quinata, age 57 of Watkins Glen, was traveling southbound on State Route 414 on his motorcycle when he passed another vehicle in a no passing zone. When he pulled back into the lane he struck the rear of another southbound vehicle. Quinata was flown to Robert Packer Hospital and treated for head and neck injuries. Quinata was arrested for unsafe passing, reckless driving and driving while intoxicated. He was issued appearance tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Hector Court at a later date. Original Press Release 10/04/15: Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident on State Route 414. On 10/04/15 at around 5:46 pm Deputies responded to an MVA involving a motorcycle. Initial investigation revealed that the motorcycle operator, Gilbert A. Quinata, passed a vehicle and struck another vehicle in the rear. Quinata was flown to Robert Packer Hospital for head and neck injuries. Investigation is continuing.
