Waterloo teen sends police on high speed chase

The Waterloo Police Department reports that on Wednesday at about 11:56 pm officers arrested Kyle R. Bailey, age 18 of 317 East Williams Street in Waterloo. Bailey was charged with unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the third degree, 4 counts of speeding including 81mph in a 30mph zone, 5 counts of failure to stop at a stop sign, 3 counts of failing to signal a turn, failure to keep right, unsafe turn, and unlicensed operator. The charges stem from an incident where a Waterloo Police Officer attempted to stop Bailey for speeding on East Main Street, and it is alleged that Bailey then attempted to flee the officer reaching a speed of 81 mph on residential streets in the Village of Waterloo. Officers took Bailey into custody after he pulled into a driveway. Bailey was arraigned in the Village of Waterloo Court and committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $250 cash/$500 insured bond bail. Bailey is to appear back in the Village of Waterloo Court on February 3rd at 5:00 pm. The Waterloo Police Department was assisted by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.
