Falls men charged after dog dies along Seneca Depot

Two men from Seneca Falls have been formally charged for placing and setting the illegal traps that killed a dog, while it’s owner walked it along the Seneca Army Depot fence. James W. Brown, 80, and Clint K. Moosman, 53, have been charged with multiple counts of setting body-gripping traps larger than six inches, as well as multiple charges of failing to identify traps.Laurena Jensen, the owner of the yellow lab who was killed by the trap, was walking the dog along the Seneca Army Depot fence when it’s neck was snapped up into this trap. Help was more than 20 minutes away, and with the force of a trap that would require two adults to pull apart — with between 600 and 800 pounds of pressure being on the animal — the dog did not make it until that help arrived.The pair are set to appear in Town of Varick and Town of Romulus Town Court to answer the charges. At this point though, the charges that Moosman and Brown are facing carry a fine of $250 or 15 days in jail.
