House fire on Black Brook Road in Seneca Falls

Seneca Falls Police Department Release posted 1/13/16: On Monday January 11, 2016 at 10:36 pm the Seneca County 911 Center received a 911 call from a residence at 2111 Black Brook Road in the Town of Seneca Falls reporting a house fire. Seneca Falls Police Department, Seneca Falls Fire Department, Waterloo Fire Department, Fayette Fire Department, and North Seneca Ambulance were dispatched to the scene. First arriving police officers reported heavy smoke showing, a male occupant and a dog were still inside the house. Officers got the male and the dog out of the home safely without any injuries sustained. The fire was placed under control approximately 30 minutes after the 911 call. Although the fire departments worked quickly and aggressively to extinguish the fire, the home sustained extensive damage. The displaced occupants were assisted by family and the American Red Cross. The preliminary cause and origin of fire was determined to be a wood stove located in the families living room.
