Sean Emerson’s 23 points led the #10 Penn Yan Mustangs to an upset win over #2 Pal-Mac knocking the Red Raiders out of a three-way tie for first in the Finger Lakes East. The other two teams tied at the top, #3 Mynderse and #4 Newark picked up wins. Newark survived a challenge from visiting Geneva to record a 6 point win while Mynderse defeated Waterloo for the 17th straight time, 62-53 in a game that was streamed live on FL1 Sports along with the varsity girls game (won by Mynderse) as part of a double-header in Waterloo.Perhaps the biggest news of the night came out of the Finger Lakes West. The Romulus Warriors boys basketball team snapped a 74 game losing streak by defeating HAC on Friday night. Congratulations to first year head coach Joe Pysnack and the Warriors. At the other end of the standings, #9 Naples and Bloomfield went to overtime before the Big Green prevailed with a 1 point victory.In Wayne County, a wild one in Clyde as the #6 Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles outscored Red Creek 19-9 in the final quarter to pick up their seventh win of the season.
