This morning at 2:00 am the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department and the Town of Seneca Falls Fire Department were dispatched to 2133 State Route 5 & 20 in Seneca Falls, (Stanton Meadows Apartments) for a report of a working kitchen fire. Upon arrival, Seneca Falls Police observed flames coming from the kitchen. Officers were able to extinguished the fire. Seneca Falls Police along with Seneca Falls Fire Department members evacuated the apartment building. A female resident sustained minor burns to her hand and was transported by North Seneca Ambulance to Geneva General Hospital for treatment. The Seneca Falls Fire Chief requested the Seneca County Fire Investigation team respond to the scene. Investigation into the cause of the fire was determined to accidental.
