On opening night in Finger Lakes West boys basketball league play, eight of the nine teams were in action. The highlight of the night, a much anticipated match-up between early season favorites Marcus Whitman and Naples. The Big Green defended their home court and came away with a 61-51 victory behind 26 points from Zack Dormer. Whitman freshman Jay Donovan scored 23 points to lead the Wildcats.Also victorious on opening night was Les Miller’s Dundee Scots who came away with a 6 point win at home against Bloomfield. Honeoye moved to 2-0 on the year with a win over HAC while Red Jacket travelled to Romulus and came away with a 32 point win.In girls varsity action, Mynderse lost to Bishop Kearney in Seneca Falls and Pal-Mac fell to Honeoye Falls-Lima in a pair of inter-league match-ups.
