On Wednesday evening at 9:31 pm, Penn Yan police, following an investigation of a complaint, initiated a traffic stop on East Main Street in the Village of Penn Yan.The driver, 44-year-old Allan R. Hansford of Dundee, was arrested after a DMV check showed his driving privileges were revoked twice for DWI charges.Hansford was also found to be in possession of approximately three grams of cocaine.He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance (felony).Hansford was arraigned in the Penn Yan Village Court and remanded to the Yates County Jail without bail due to having more than two prior felony convictions. He will reappear in Village Court at a later date to answer the charges.
