Penn Yan man charged with DWI

On Thursday at approximately 5:07 pm the Penn Yan Police arrested Robert R. Yonge, age 45 of 205 East Elm Street in Penn Yan, for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st and Driving While Intoxicated.Police issued a traffic stop after Yonge was seen operating a motor vehicle with no headlights on Wagener Street. Yonge was found to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol after a series of field tests. He was taken to the Yates County Public Safety Building for a breath test and a DRE evaluation. He was charged with DWI, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. His NYS drivers privilege was found to be revoked and as a result Yonge was also charged with felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.Yonge was released with a court date scheduled for December 14th.
