Lee Park, a spokesman for the Gaming Commission, said the site location board’s decisions “are sound and thoroughly justified in its nearly 800-page report and findings. The law — which Assemblyman Pretlow sponsored — does not give the ability of the commission to review the merits of the board’s license recommendation. The commission is obligated to review the suitability and background of the applicant, and remains on track to issue licenses by the end of the year.”
